Getting married in Linz

The city on the Danube offers numerous beautiful buildings, especially for church weddings. Particularly worth mentioning are the old cathedral from 1669 and the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, also known as the New Cathedral, which has the highest church tower in Austria after St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna. However, the size of the two churches must be taken into account, as the New Cathedral in particular is the largest cathedral in the country with a capacity of 20,000 people and small wedding parties could seem rather lost there. However, the bride's long walk to the altar is likely to be an unforgettable moment of the wedding ceremony.

Weddings can also be held in the Pöstlingberg pilgrimage basilica, the city's landmark. From there, at 537 meters above sea level, the wedding party has an unobstructed view of the entire city area and the Danube.

When it comes to the Danube, the location tip for hosting the celebrations after the wedding is pretty clear: the world-famous river should play a role in every planning, either in one of the numerous hotels along the Danube or on a boat on the same. There are many options.
