Nestled amidst the Styrian vineyards stands the Thaller family’s wine castle. Coming from the blooming castle courtyard, the guests walk along the arcades into the chapel by the vineyard and up to the wedding pavilion, which towers high above the vineyards. Civil, religious or non-denominational weddings are possible here, as well as a festive table and subsequent party in the courtyard.
Event lady Bettina supports you with her years of experience and great attention to detail in the planning and, together with her culinary team, looks after all the wedding guests. Our kitchen crew will put together a menu that is individually tailored to your needs, rounded off with fine wines from our winemakers and regional specialties.
There is only one wedding per day at the wine castle and therefore the location can be individually tailored to your wishes and designed flexibly. So nothing stands in the way of a special celebration in a breathtaking setting.
CELEBRATE REGARDLESS OF THE WEATHER
The spacious property offers a wide range of design options for all seasons and weather-dependent situations. Our spacious courtyard, the center of the wine castle, can also be used regardless of the weather and at any time of the year since 2022. A mobile courtyard roof including lighting technology ensures even more atmosphere in the outdoor area.

As a family business, “sustainability” is not just a word for us, it is something we live every day. In 2023, we have therefore decided to have our event location certified as a “Green Location” with the Austrian Ecolabel, the only state-certified environmental seal in Austria.

Ballroom
The ballroom on the ground floor is the largest enclosed space in the wine castle. Here you have direct access to the vineyard terrace as well as to the inner courtyard with a retractable roof. The floor-to-ceiling windows also give the hall plenty of light and allow guests to look out onto nature. The hall also includes all technical equipment, such as a projector, screen, sound system, etc.

The inner courtyard in the wine castle is particularly popular for aperitifs and/or agape in the afternoon. There are many individual design options here with high tables, barrels and small seating areas. In the evening, you can dance and celebrate with a live band or DJ. With the extendable inner courtyard roof, no celebration will be ruined! Since 2022, the wine castle has been a weatherproof and flexible venue for celebrations all year round. The built-in lighting system creates a special atmosphere and mood in the evening.

Pavilion at the vineyard
The pavilion above the vineyards on the west side of the wine castle is particularly popular with couples for unique ceremonies. Civil, religious or free weddings are possible here. Inside the pavilion, you can choose between garden seating and white chairs. The entrance through the large wooden gate, along the beautiful gardens to the gates of the pavilion, is particularly moving.

Ancestral Gallery
The ancestral gallery, also known as the red salon, is a smaller room on the first floor of the wine castle. This room is often used for smaller celebrations or as a dressing room for the bride and groom. If you want to get some fresh air in between, there is also access to the arcades on the first floor.

You can reach and find us on the way to Fürstenfeld, in the thermal and volcanic region of Styria - high above Maierhofen.
Arrival by public transport:
The train station in Söchau is 3.5 kilometers away. The bus stop in Großwilfersdorf is 3 kilometers away. A local company can organize a shuttle service there and back from the individual stops and the accommodation providers in the region in order to reduce private transport to a minimum. We are happy to help with the organization.

The Ilz/Fürstenfeld motorway exit is within 4 kilometers.
