Description of the gastronomy:
We keep the kitchen in the village and are constantly developing our cuisine, which has been certified organic since 2004. We offer lactose- and gluten-free dishes for allergy sufferers, and vegans will also find a fine selection with us.
Organic food from our region has absolute priority. Meat is something very special and not a mass-produced product. Therefore, in our kitchen we only use regional organic animals raised outdoors, processed in their entirety and with respect. Since 2014 we have been involved with the Labonca organic farm with its attached pasture slaughterhouse. Organic pigs, organic cattle and organic geese are raised on a dedicated pasture for the Retter-BIO-Hotel Restaurant. Our organic lambs are also slaughtered there. They live more than twice as long as conventional animals and always graze in familiar surroundings at the pasture slaughterhouse. Enjoy happiness on your plate and at the buffets. You will be delighted by our ham and sausage specialties and spreads. Since 1992, all agriculture around the hotel has been certified organic.
Drink refreshing beverages made from local fruit such as apples and pears, as well as Retter organic beer and fine organic wines from the Vulkanland wine region. Our restaurant has held the Green Toque for healthy, wholesome and regional cuisine for more than 30 years and has been awarded "Beer Innkeeper of the Year", "Gourmet Innkeeper of the Year 2015/16" as well as 2 Falstaff forks. For à la carte reservations, the restaurants Muskat and Lorbeer as well as our garden seating area in front of the house are available. The panoramic terrace is reserved exclusively for hotel guests.
Hotel guests can enjoy all-day delicacies from the all-day gourmet package, featuring hearty dishes made from local, certified organic foods and herbs from the hotel's own garden and the Pöllauberg mountain.
