- Description of the gastronomy: The restaurant on the new Prince's Island entices guests with seasonal and regional delicacies. Our experienced chef Lars Gottwalt combines typical Holstein cuisine with influences from France, Italy and Germany. After years of traveling, including in the border triangle near Lörrach and Schloss Weissenhaus, he is now bringing his culinary skills to our kitchen. The island was once used for agricultural training for the princes. The proximity to agriculture has been a tradition ever since and is reflected in a menu with typical products from regional producers. From veal schnitzel, Holstein potato soup, North German fish dishes and game specialties to home-baked sheet cakes and delicious ice cream specialties.

In order not to disturb the peace and the pristine nature of this special place, the approximately two-kilometer-long island is closed to motorized traffic. There are parking options directly on the B430, among other places. From here and from the town center of Plön, there is a picturesque hiking trail that can also be ridden by bike. During the season, the island can be reached by boat from the Plön pier. We would be happy to arrange a shuttle service for you and your guests from the parking lot on the B430 to the restaurant on the Prince's Island.
