Coming from Linz/Vienna:
A1, at the Haid junction take the A25 towards Passau, exit Wels Ost, then on the B1 to the junction with the B138, turn left towards Thalheim/Kirchdorf until the Thalheim town centre junction. Turn right into Rodlberger Straße. Follow this road until the second roundabout, then take the second exit onto Ascheter Straße to the museum.
Coming from Salzburg:
A1, exit Sattledt, turn left towards Wels. Follow the road for about 10 km and turn left at the second traffic light into Rodlberger Straße towards the center of Thalheim. Follow this road until the second roundabout, then take the second exit onto Ascheter Straße to the museum.
Coming from Passau:
A8 to junction Wels, then there are two options:
1st option:
A25 towards Vienna/Linz until the Wels Nord exit, left onto the B 137 towards Kirchdorf until the Thalheim town centre junction, right onto Rodlberger Straße. Follow this road until the second roundabout, then take the second exit onto Ascheter Straße to the museum.
2nd option
A25, exit Wels West, towards Wels center and Welios. At the Weliosplatz roundabout, take the second exit onto Volksgartenstraße, then turn right at the traffic lights over the Traun bridge to Thalheim. Leave the roundabout at the first exit onto Ascheter Straße. After about 500 m you will see the museum on the right.
On these routes you pass a viaduct with a clearance height of 3.4 m.
An alternative route leads via Steinhaus near Wels. You can also follow the signs to the Wels trade fair and park at the Wels indoor and outdoor swimming pool (parking also available for buses). From there you can reach the museum in five minutes on foot via the museum walkways.
