Do we want to have a traditional wedding? Or can it be a modern location? Do family and friends need to have accommodation on site, or is their journey home not that far? Are we more of the romantic type? Will we only have a civil wedding, or will we also have a church wedding?
There are hundreds of questions when you start planning your wedding. And of course, it should be a special day for everyone.
Burgenland offers a suitable location for every type of marriage. Depending on your preferences, weddings can be organized in a variety of ways.
On the border with Styria, for example, there is the “ Eisenberg ”, now known as a wedding hotel. At first glance, it may seem a bit “ far off the beaten track ”, but it is in almost untouched nature and guests can book their rooms directly in the hotel. There are rustic and modern corners for wedding photos and those who arrive earlier or stay longer can perhaps even relax by the pool.
The " Vila Vita " in Seewinkel offers similar possibilities. Here too, it is possible to accommodate guests at the location where the celebration is taking place. The straw-covered Csarda is a very nice function hall, offering a cozy atmosphere even for larger celebrations. The swimming pond is perfect for taking Caribbean-style couple photos, while the observation tower exudes a lounge atmosphere.
But even smaller locations , such as the Gasthof Zankl , have a beautiful garden with a pond for great couple photos.
If you want to get married in a church, you can find both classic churches , such as the one in St. Georgen, and modern ones, such as the one in the small town of Hochart. Here, too, you can enjoy this special moment and very atmospheric pictures can be taken here.
If you would like to celebrate your wedding without a church, you can do so in the courtyards of wineries , for example at the Leidl-Putz family in Purbach, or you can rent a boat in Podersdorf or Rust and have the registrar marry you directly on Lake Neusiedl. If you are lucky with the weather, this ambience gives the ceremony a distinct holiday feel - the Podersdorf lighthouse also contributes to this.
The Liszt Center in Raiding offers a wonderfully simple, modern ballroom, but the outdoor area is also very tastefully designed and you can host stylish agape parties here. The area offers many photographic opportunities, as restored old buildings nestle into the park just as well as the new, modern building in which the hall is located.
The castle park in Eisenstadt has of course always been a popular backdrop for wedding photos among Burgenland wedding couples. There are many romantic corners in the extensive grounds that create a wonderful, fairytale-like backdrop.
No matter how and where in Burgenland you get married, you can find photogenic spots for beautiful couple photos everywhere – and brave couples even manage to take relaxed pictures on Lake Neusiedl in December ;-) !
