Tips & Tricks for the Best Man - How to be the perfect support for the big day
This is where true male friendship is needed: on his big day, your best friend will be really excited and will be happy to have your support - even if he may not want to admit it. ;)
- Pick up the groom from his home in the morning
- Check out his styling from head to toe:
- Do your hairstyle and suit fit?
- Is the corsage nicely placed?
- Is he wearing socks that match the color? (Leave the colorful striped ones in the closet and choose classic socks in the color of his shoes instead - unless the socks are supposed to be a special eye-catcher in the wedding color).
- Are the shoes clean?
- Pack a small "emergency bag" together, which you can then simply leave at the party location. This should contain:
- A spare shirt: various games and dance routines make many a groom sweat
- A deodorant and perfume - the "French shower" makes dancing with your new mother-in-law a little more pleasant
- Tissues - yes, even the toughest guy might shed a few tears on this day
- Hip flask with a good whiskey or something similar - yes, a little calming drink can't hurt now and then ;)
- Cheat sheet with the love vows for his bride and the speech to the wedding party
- Check: Do you have the rings with you (usually the best man keeps them on the wedding day until the handover)
If you've taken these points into account and packed an emergency bag, you're ready to go - and your job now is to make the groom's day as stress-free as possible. Have fun! ;)
