Wedding tip of the week: B for BFF

Wedding tip of the week: B for BFF - hochzeits-location.info

The maid of honour is usually the most important person in a bride's life, next to her future husband. As such, she has the "pleasure" of experiencing all the ups and downs before, during and after the wedding with the bride. ;) It's understandable that this can be stressful at times - but: you have to get through it, dear maids of honour! ;) To make things a little easier for you, here is an overview of the most important tasks of a maid of honour:

The bachelor party

  • Very important: Plan from the bride's perspective - what is fun for her? Which tasks and games are OK, and which ones will the bride only take part in out of politeness?
  • Getting to know each other: Often the participants of the hen party don't all know each other. Therefore, it is a good idea to start with a joint activity in the afternoon. A hike, boat trip, city tour or something similar are particularly suitable here. This brings us to the next point:
  • Budget: plan a great activity that is also within the financial means of all participants. Even if you think a helicopter ride together would be the absolute highlight, you still have to understand that the other participants' wallets may not be able to afford it. Even with simple means, you can start the day off well.
  • Don't forget about your physical well-being: Nothing spoils your mood like empty stomachs. So make sure you plan dinner after the afternoon activity, for example, before the party night can begin.
  • Games/tasks for the bride: traditionally, the bride is supposed to sell small giveaways such as condoms, knockers, sweets, etc. at the hen party to make the party night more affordable for the whole group. Think of a few tasks for the bride that are fun and also bring the hen party group into contact with other party animals. One fun idea, for example, is to make accessories for each month of the year. The bride then has to find 12 men who will each take a photo with her wearing one of the accessories. The end result is a calendar that will be a great memory for the bride long after the hen party!

Wedding preparation / program planning

Usually the witnesses and the bride and groom take over the rough planning of the wedding day

One of the most important tasks here is to organize and plan the contributions of the rest of the wedding party - family and friends often contribute photo presentations, sketches or games with the bride and groom. It is particularly important here to find the right mix of emotional and funny and to schedule the contributions so that the program does not take "too long". After all, we also want to dance a little :)

What the maid of honour should not forget on the wedding day

  • The schedule - even if the bride knew this in her sleep before the wedding, she may be too nervous on the big day to keep track of everything. So keep checking the schedule to see if it is roughly being adhered to
  • A list of all external contacts such as photographer, band, caterer, etc. So you can call at any time if someone does not show up at the agreed meeting point at the agreed time
  • A pair of ballerina shoes for the bride - even the best high heel wearer will give up at some point - and you usually can't see the shoes under the big skirt of the wedding dress anyway ;)
  • Additional make-up for touch-ups
  • A few tissues
  • And, very important: strong nerves :)

Your BFF will thank you!
