The bride and groom’s speech – what should not be forgotten?

The bride and groom’s speech – what should not be forgotten? - hochzeits-location.info

At the weekend I saw the first groups of stag and hen parties walking through Salzburg. That means the first weddings will probably be around the corner soon. So today I have a quick, practical tip for the big day:

The "perfect" wedding speech

It's best to think briefly in advance about what you want to mention in your speech... and just to be on the safe side, write down a few key words that will help you if you get really nervous.

The right time is important! In our opinion, after the starter is the ideal time for the bride and groom to give their speech. The guests have all arrived, their stomachs are a little full, the catering has a little more time to prepare the main course and the bride and groom have had a few glasses of champagne to calm down ;)

  • Thank your guests for coming - if guests have travelled from further away, they will certainly be pleased if you reward them separately
  • Thanks to the witnesses and parents
  • Give some organizational tips & information:
  • Where is the bathroom
  • If there is a taxi to take you home, where does it go and when is it available?
  • Where is smoking allowed and where is it not?
  • If you do not want to invite your guests to all drinks, let them know which drinks are included (e.g. bar drinks must be paid for by the guests themselves)
  • Wishing everyone a LOT OF FUN!

And the most important thing: keep it relatively short - the bride's father, the witnesses or other guests will usually want to say a few words. The speeches should not be too long overall, as this could become tedious for the guests.

And from our side, HAVE FUN! :)
