Car – from Frankfurt (350 km); from Stuttgart (170 km)
Take the A81 towards Singen. At the Hegau junction, continue on to Konstanz/Radolfzell (B33), then take the Singen/Steisslingen/Moos exit. First follow the road sign Moos. After passing through the villages of Moos, Iznang, Horn, Gaienhofen and Hemmenhofen, you will reach Marbach Castle, located on the left side of the road, 1 km after the Hemmenhofen exit sign.
Car – from Munich (280 km)
Take the A8 to Ulm, then the B30 via Biberach and Ravensburg to Meersburg. You can take the car ferry to Konstanz. From there, always follow the signs for Singen until you reach the Radolfzell exit (B33). The onward journey through Radolfzell is signposted to Stein am Rhein (CH). After Moos, Iznang, Horn, Gaienhofen and Hemmenhofen you will reach Marbach Castle, located on the left side of the road, 1 km after the Hemmenhofen exit sign.
Car – from Zurich, via Andelfingen (70 km)
Take the A1 towards Winterthur until the Schaffhausen/Henggart exit, then the A4 until the Kleinandelfingen/Stein am Rhein/Ossingen exit. After Ossingen, Waltalingen, Etzwilen and Kaltenbach you reach Stein am Rhein.
At the beginning of the town, follow the signs for Öhningen (D). You cross the Rhine and first follow the signs for Transit, then Radolfzell (D). After crossing the border, drive through Öhningen and Wangen. Marbach Castle is on the right side of the road, 1 km after the Wangen exit sign.
Car – from Zurich, via Frauenfeld (75 km)
Take the A1 towards St. Gallen/Winterthur-Ohringen, then continue on to Konstanz/Kreuzlingen/Frauenfeld (A7). Continue on the A7 until the Frauenfeld-West exit. Turn left at the stop sign, go under the motorway, then go straight around the roundabout towards Stein am Rhein. Via Weiningen, Herdern and Eschenz you reach Stein am Rhein.
At the beginning of the town, turn right and follow the signs to Öhningen (D). You cross the Rhine and first follow the signs for Transit, then Radolfzell (D). After crossing the border, drive through Öhningen and Wangen. Marbach Castle is on the right side of the road, 1 km after the Wangen exit sign.
Train
The nearest German train station, Radolfzell (17 km), can be reached by InterRegio via Frankfurt, Heidelberg or by EC/IC/ICE trains with connections in Mannheim (ICE) and Offenburg. Stein am Rhein (8 km), located on the Swiss side, has train connections to Schaffhausen, Winterthur, Zurich and Zurich-Kloten International Airport.
